Discovery Art Fair 2025

At Discovery Art Fair, the A2 Galerie from Potsdam presents an exhibition composed of works by its resident artists. The selection brings together the paintings of Andrei Lavrentev and Tatiana Postolovskaya, working as part of the artistic duo “Na grani tsveta” (“On the Edge of Color”), the canvases of Natalia Awenius, and a rare collection of graphics and collages by Vladimir Kordiukov.

The A2 Galerie presentation at Discovery Art Fair showcases the mythologems of color in the works of the duo “Na grani tsveta”, the poetic abstraction of Natalia Awenius, and the multilayered legacy of Vladimir Kordiukov. The selection brings together diverse artistic perspectives in a single space where contemporary art appears vividly, emotionally, and in many facets — reflecting the German art scene of the first quarter of the 21st century.

Vladimir Kordiukov

At the A2 Galerie booth, a rare collection of works by Vladimir Kordiukov (1953–2009) is also presented. Among other pieces, it includes Sweet motive (1999, watercolor and pastel on paper, 51 × 36 cm), Still life (1998, collage on paper, 42 × 62 cm), and Unusual flower (1994, paper, 41 × 29 cm). Kordiukov demonstrates a multifaceted mastery of the paper medium: he employs watercolor and pastel, creates collages and assemblages, and works with batik and combined techniques. Despite the simplicity of the titles, his works reveal to the viewer the richness of the material and new plastic possibilities. The collages resemble stained glass, the watercolors stand out for their transparency and delicacy, and the pastel sheets convey the density of color and texture. All of this forms a legacy that remains relevant today, more than twenty years on.

Natalia Awenius

Natalia Awenius presents painting in which nature and inner energy find their resonance through the rhythm of color. Among her works are Die Wirkung der Gerechtigkeit wird Friede sein (2024, oil on canvas, 120 × 100 cm) and Frühling (2023, oil on canvas, 110 × 80 cm). In the first, vertical streams of color evoke the atmosphere of a forest, where the lines resemble both tree trunks and descending rays of light, creating an image of silence and inner balance. In the second, the artist unfolds the motif of spring renewal and harmony, shaping an atmosphere of transparency and light. Awenius builds rhythms of color as a space for meditation and contemplation: her painting becomes a poetic field in which the viewer can experience natural cycles and their own emotional states.

“Na grani tsveta”

Andrei Lavrentev & Tatiana Postolovskaya

Among the works presented by Andrei Lavrentev, member of the artistic duo “Na grani tsveta”, it is worth highlighting Antiquities (2025, oil on canvas, 120 × 95 cm) and Galaxy (2025, oil on canvas, 90 × 60 cm). In Antiquities, the artist engages with the theme of cultural heritage, transforming layers of history into an abstract visual code. In Galaxy, he turns to the metaphor of the cosmos: color and structure generate a sense of movement and infinite energy.

Tatiana Postolovskaya, member of the artistic duo “Na grani tsveta”, presents Hydrothermal springs (2025, oil on canvas, 120 × 95 cm) and Mind games (2025, oil on canvas, 120 × 95 cm), which form the core of her statement. In Hydrothermal springs, painting imitates a hot spring, where paint flows, envelops, and interacts, creating a pulsating space. In Mind games, forms and colors are composed into a tense rhythm that evokes the workings of thought and association.

The duo “Na grani tsveta” demonstrates how abstract painting transforms into visual mythologems: the artists work with color as a symbolic instrument and create images that are perceived simultaneously emotionally and conceptually, beyond time and in unison with space.
